Recall on Hip Implants
Nobody wants to hear that a defective product has been recalled, especially a medical device that you may have inside your body. There has been a recent recall of Stryker hip implant products. The Stryker Orthopedic Rejuvenate Modular Hip Implant and ABG II modular-neck hip system were pulled from the market recently after concerns about the increased risk of harm for patients who received the medical products. “Metallic particles from the devices were apparently expelled from the implant and entered patient bodies. Sometimes the particles entered the bloodstream and caused a range of poisonings. On other occassions the metal entered nearby tissue and caused breakdowns and infections.”
