Women Sue over Rat in McDonald's Salad

A man has filed a $1.7 million personal injury lawsuit against a McDonald's restaurant (26OCT06) after his wife and au pair found a dead rat in their salad. Dallas Cowboys wide receivers-passing game coach Todd Haley, his wife Christine Haley, and their au pair Kathryn Kelley are filing the suit against the franchise owner Ken Lobato and KBL Group, and the restaurant itself for the severe physical and mental pain that Christine Haley and Kathryn Kelley have suffered. Todd Haley is also suing for "loss of consortium" in regards to his wife. The suit accuses the restaurant of negligence in their failure to prevent rats from contaminating the food preparation area. Lobato says, "We haven't seen the litigation, so we can't respond to the claims. Nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of our customers. We maintain the strictest quality standards."
