Woman Charged with Vehicular Homicide

A woman in has been sentenced to three years in prison after causing a car accident that killed one person and permanently disabled another in Baberton, Ohio (30JUN05). Jennifer Long, 25, killed Karey Scott, 21, and left 23-year-old Justin Curtis a quadriplegic when she drove across the median of I-76 and hit their car. Long, who is six months pregnant, was accused by the families of Scott and Curtis at the hearing of showing no remorse. She pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and two counts of aggravated vehicular assault, and was sentenced to three years in jail. Summit County Common Pleas Judge Judith Hunter ruled that Long's prison sentence will not begin until after the birth of her child.
