Widow Files Wrongful Death Suit

A woman whose husband died in a car crash is filing a wrongful death lawsuit against South San Francisco, San Mateo County and the parents of the teenager who caused the accident. Ray Masaganda was killed when a 17-year-old driver crossed over the center divide of the highway and crashed into him. According to the suit, the teen was speeding at the time of the accident. Maria Masaganda accuses South San Francisco and the county of failing to maintain a stretch of highway notorious for causing serious accidents between El Camino Real and Junipero Serra Boulevard. Masaganda's attorney Maria Manning says, "It's pretty incredible, all of these accidents that have been going on on the road."
