Truck Driver Charged With Vehicular Homicide

A truck driver has been charged with vehicular homicide after causing the death of a mother and her two young children in an accident last year (25AUG05). Mark A. Nesbitt, 41, had fallen asleep at the wheel of his truck after driving for longer hours than federal regulations allow. He then crashed his 34,450 pound truck into the 1988 Toyota Celica Maria Y. Diaz was driving, killing her daughters Briselda and Carla. Nesbitt was also found to have been taking blood pressure medication that could possibly have compromised his alertness while driving.
