Sheriffs Department Files Wrongful Termination
Three former DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department employees say they were fired after reporting the beating of an inmate by another employee. The former sheriff’s department workers will get a chance in court over what they call a wrongful termination. The lawsuit was filed in 2005, but dismissed in 2007 based on a U.S. Supreme Court ruling from California that reduced protections for whistleblowers
