Seattle Doctor Suspended for Malpractice

A physician in Seattle, Washington has had his medical license suspended after being accused of performing surgery on patients who didn't need it, causing them permanent injury. Anesthesiologist Dr. Solomon Kamson, 50, from the Spine Institute Northwest in Bothell, failed to inform patients of the risks of surgery, and also failed to let them know that he "did not have the same training, experience and knowledge as a surgeon." Kamson is accused of performing unnecessary spinal surgery on three patients, causing them lifelong injuries. One patient suffered permanent nerve damage, partial paralysis, impaired bladder and bowel control and sexual dysfunction as a result of the surgery. Kamson has ten days to ask for a hearing and 20 to make a formal response to the charges against him.
