Pipe Leaks 3000 Gallons of Oil

3,000 gallons of crude oil have leaked into the Galveston Bay town of Shoreacres, Texas thanks to a hole in the pipeline. The pinhole-sized leak was found on Tuesday (24OCT06), in the underground pipeline about 350 feet from the Bayport Ship Channel. Even though it was only the size of a pinhole, it had spilled about 3,000 gallons of crude oil in the Galveston Bay town of Shoreacres. Shoreacres Police Chief Randy French says that although the oil did bubble above the ground, it was contained within a 25-foot square-yard area.
