Pedestrians at High Risk of Bone Fracture

A recent study shows that pedestrians who are involved in car accidents have the highest mortality and morbidity rates in all car-related traumas. In the study of 115 car accident patients, the most common fracture was the tibia-fibula (39 patients), followed by pelvic fractures (35 patients) and femur fractures (31 patients). A direct blow mechanism caused 90% of long bone fractures.
