New Restrictions for Truckers in Florida

Truck drivers who are traveling in Florida face new regulations in an effort to cut down on the number of fatal accidents that occur in the state. According to the new laws, truckers in Florida are no longer allowed to drive more than 12 hours following ten consecutive hours of rest. Under the old laws, they were allowed to drive for 15 hours after eight hours of rest. The new regulations have been put in place after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that Florida ranked second in the U.S. for the number of fatal large-vehicle crashes.
