Negligence Case Settled for $195k

A negligence case against Visalia was settled this Wednesday for $195,000. Husetta Colello parked her car  in a Visalia parking space. After coming out a meeting at nighttime she stumbled on the concrete stop while trying to get into her car. As a result, she severely fractured her right ankle. Colello argued that the city’s negligence led to the concrete stops being bolted in an improper location, since these concrete stops are usually located in the front of the parking spaces. Colello and her attorney agreed to the settlement and ended the case since, the jury was deadlocked and was heading toward a ruling in the city’s favor.
