Man Faces Judge for Pit Bull Attack

The owner of a pit bull which maimed a toddler for life faced a judge for the first time since the attack. Mark Hamilton is being held responsible for the actions of the dog, which attacked to-year-old Amaya Hess when Hamilton wasn't home (MAY06). Hess was almost killed in the attack which left her with horrific injuries to the head and face. Hamilton faces a possible penalty for as long as he lives in Marion County, Indiana. Hess had surgery on Monday (20OCT06) to fix a feeding tube, the latest in a series of surgeries she must undergo.
