First Plavix Lawsuit Filed

The first personal injury suit has been filed against pharmaceutical company Bristol-Myers Squibb and Sanofi-Aventis following allegations that their blood-thinning drug Plavix may have fatal side effects. Bristol-Myers Squibb have been accused of misleading the public and hiding the high risks of Plavix which include heart attack, stroke, internal bleeding and death. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of husband and wife Dorothy and Thomas Hall after Dorothy suffered two strokes, as a result of using Plavix from December 20 2002 to Oct 4 2005. The suit alleges that Bristol-Myers Squibb were well aware of the dangers associated with Plavix, and had been repeatedly warned by the FDA to stop its misleading advertising and promotional practices.
