Fire Department Settles $2.7 Million Discrimination Suit

The Los Angeles Fire Department has settled a $2.7 million suit with firefighter Tennie Pierce after he accused the department of racism and discrimination. Pierce filed the lawsuit after an incident where two other firefighters mixed dog food into his spaghetti. Pierce, who is African American, claims the incident was not a mere prank but racist harassment. The suit was settled last week (beg06NOV06).
