FDA Warns Bausch & Lomb About Renu
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a stern warning to Bausch & Lomb, makers of controversial contact lens solution Renu. Bausch & Lomb are accused of not reporting 35 cases of fungal infection in Singapore that occurred as a result of Renu. The infections were reported to Bausch & Lomb's Rochester, New York executives but not to the FDA. The company's Greenville, South Carolina plant was inspected by the FDA after last May's (05) fungal outbreak.
