FDA Proposes New Rule

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has proposed major revisions relative to perscription drug labeling. The goal is to provide consumers with better information about the effects of drugs during pregnancy and while breast feeding. It is believed that the revisions would have a significant impact on public health. As stated by Rear Admiral Sandra Kweder, M.D., Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, FDA " With this proposal, FDA's goal is to help women, their physicians and their pharmacists have better information about the effects of prescription medicines so that pregnant women, nursing mothers, and breast-feeding infants will benefit.
