Family Awarded $3 million in Wrongful Death Case

Three million dollars has been awarded to the family of a 20-year-old man who died in a highway crash in 2003. It was decided that a Gallatin Gateway strip club should be held liable in the death of Richard Presler, because it had served the underage man alcohol. Despite being visibly intoxicated and under 21 Presler was still served alcohol. He left the bar and was northbound on U.S. Highway 191 when his truck crossed the centerline and collided with a vehicle driven by 54-year-old Michael Bowen of Bozeman. Both men died from their injuries days later.
