Ex-Employee Seeking $10M in Wrongful Termination

Albert Leonard Stephens III, a former employee of Applejack Art Partners Inc. has filed a wrongful termination suit against the company and several of its executives for $10 million. Stephens is seeking damages due to lost earnings, unpaid and lost bonuses, unpaid and lost profits, devaluation of stock and relocation expenses and seeks punitive damages.Stephens says he was offered a 25 percent share of Applejack Art Partners in exchange for a capital investment of $1,125,000, the suit alleges. CEO Jack Appelman and the other defendants have denied that claim. Stephens said he was also offered the position of vice president in charge of finished goods for an annual salary of $125,000 plus benefits, which included health insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid vacation and an automobile allowance, to relocate his family to Vermont from South Carolina.
