Dog Attacks on the Rise

Nearly 2% of the U.S. population is bitten by a dog each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia. This means there are approximately 5 million victims of dog bites each year, the majority of whom are children. Around 1000 dog bite victims are treated in hospital emergency rooms every day, and cause losses of over $1 billion a year, $345 million of which is paid by homeowner insurance policies.
