Doctor Pays $250,000 After Patient Dies

A doctor in Erie, Indiana has settled a negligence lawsuit out of court for $250,000 with the family of a patient who overdosed on prescription medicine. Doctor David Klees' insurance company is making the payout after Sherry Ziroli overdosed on prescription drugs that Klees wrote illegally. Klees was convicted of 12 counts of writing illegal prescriptions in November (04). The lawsuit was filed by Ziroli's husband, who accused Klees of being responsible for his wife's death.
