Ambien Abuse On the Rise

A health warning has been issued about the use of sleeping pill Ambien after reports that the drug is being used as a party drug. Ambien, which is the highest-selling prescription sleeping pill in the U.S, is allegedly being used by teenagers and college students as a recreational drug. Over a quarter of a million prescriptions for Ambien were written in 2005. Known also as "a-minus" and "zombie pills", Ambien is a safe drug when taken properly. But Ambien abuse is causing concern. DEA Special Agent Steve Robertson says, "We're hearing about this, we're seeing a rise. That is a concern."
