$15 Million Awarded in Damages for Teen Death
The family of a teenager who was killed when his Ford Explorer Sport rolled over has been awarded $15 million in compensatory damages. Federal jurors in Tulsa, Oklahoma awarded the money after determining that 18-year-old Tyler Moody's car was defective and did not have adequate roof-crush tolerance. According to the family attorney, the rollover itself was a "relatively slow, easy roll", and he would not have died had the roof of the vehicle been better designed.
